FAITH THAT OPENS OUR EYES

TODAY’S GOD’S WORD REFLECTION: FAITH THAT OPENS OUR EYES

Thursday, May 28, 2026

📖 Today’s Readings: 1 Peter 2:2–5, 9–12 | Psalm 100 | Mark 10:46–52

In today’s Gospel, Bartimaeus, a blind man, cried out to Jesus: “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Even though many people tried to silence him, Bartimaeus continued to call out with faith and hope. He believed that Jesus could restore his life. And indeed, because of his faith, he received his sight and followed Jesus.

The First Reading reminds us that we are God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood, and His own possession. God calls us out of darkness into His marvelous light. This means that the lives of believers should reflect His light, hope, and goodness in the world.

Often, what makes us “blind” is not a lack of physical sight, but a heart that has lost hope, a mind filled with fear, or a life consumed by problems. Today, Jesus invites us to come to Him like Bartimaeus—with trust, perseverance, and faith. A genuine faith in God opens the eyes of our hearts, enabling us to see His guidance, His hope, and His greater plan for our lives.

Prayer: Lord, open the eyes of our hearts so that we may see Your love, Your will, and Your path for our lives each day. Amen.

May God bless us all ❤️
