Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

🙏 DAILY GOSPEL REFLECTION: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

Monday, August 3, 2026

Readings: Jeremiah 28:1–17 • Psalm 119:29, 43, 79–80, 95, 102 • Matthew 14:22–36

In today's Gospel, the disciples found themselves caught in a fierce storm while crossing the lake. The waves battered their boat, and Jesus was not physically with them. At their moment of greatest fear, Jesus came walking on the water and said, "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid." Peter boldly stepped out of the boat. As long as his eyes remained fixed on Jesus, he walked on the water. But when he focused on the wind and the waves, fear took over, and he began to sink.

Peter's experience mirrors our own lives. When our eyes are fixed on Christ, we find the strength to overcome life's challenges. But when we focus more on our fears, problems, and uncertainties than on God's presence, our faith begins to weaken.

The first reading also teaches us the importance of remaining faithful to God's truth. The prophet Hananiah proclaimed comforting words that pleased the people but did not come from God. Jeremiah, however, courageously proclaimed God's true message, even though it was difficult and unpopular. We are reminded to build our lives on God's truth rather than on messages that simply tell us what we want to hear.

Life's storms may come in the form of family struggles, illness, financial pressures, or disappointments. Jesus does not always remove the storm immediately, but He always comes to us in the midst of it. His presence brings peace, courage, and renewed hope.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You instead of the storms around me. Strengthen my faith so that I may remain faithful to Your truth and trust that You are always with me. Amen.

May God bless us all. ❤️

Tetap Percaya di Tengah Badai

🙏 RENUNGAN FIRMAN TUHAN HARI INI: Tetap Percaya di Tengah Badai

Senin, 3 Agustus 2026

Bacaan: Yeremia 28:1–17 • Mazmur 119:29, 43, 79–80, 95, 102 • Matius 14:22–36

Amin.

Tuhan memberkati kita semua. ❤️

Faithful to the Truth

📖 DAILY GOSPEL REFLECTION: Faithful to the Truth

Saturday, August 1, 2026
Memorial of Saint Alphonsus Liguori

Scripture Readings:
Jeremiah 26:11–16,24 • Psalm 69:15–16,30–31,33–34 • Matthew 14:1–12

Jeremiah was put on trial because he faithfully proclaimed God's message. Although many wanted him condemned, he refused to change God's word to please people. He chose obedience to God over personal safety, and God protected him through those who stood for justice.

In today's Gospel, we witness the martyrdom of John the Baptist. Because he courageously confronted King Herod's sinful actions, John was imprisoned and eventually beheaded. He lost his life, but he never lost his faithfulness to God.

These readings remind us that following Christ is not always easy. There will be times when we are misunderstood, rejected, or even suffer because we choose to stand for what is right. Yet God never abandons those who remain faithful to Him. Faithfulness to the truth may require sacrifice, but it always leads to eternal glory.

Today, we are also called to be witnesses of Christ—by being honest in our work, faithful in our families, courageous in rejecting wrongdoing, and continuing to love even when we are not appreciated. Do not be afraid to stand apart from the crowd. God sees your faithfulness and will strengthen you every step of the way.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, give me a steadfast heart like Jeremiah and John the Baptist. Help me remain faithful to You, stand courageously for the truth, and never be afraid to follow You, whatever the cost. Amen.

May God bless us all. ❤️

Tetap Setia di Tengah Penolakan

📖 RENUNGAN FIRMAN TUHAN HARI INI: Tetap Setia di Tengah Penolakan

Sabtu, 1 Agustus 2026
Peringatan Wajib Santo Alfonsus Maria de Liguori

Bacaan: Yeremia 26:11–16,24 • Mazmur 69:15–16,30–31,33–34 • Matius 14:1–12

Amin.

Tuhan memberkati kita semua. ❤️
