LEARNING WISDOM SO WE DO NOT STUMBLE

A Reflection on Wisdom 6:3, 9, 10

Wisdom 6 reminds us that every authority, responsibility, and influence we have comes from God. Nothing is truly ours to use carelessly. Whether we lead many people or only carry small responsibilities, God sees how we use what He has entrusted to us.

That is why the invitation is clear: we must learn Wisdom so that we do not stumble. Without Wisdom, power can become pride, responsibility can become burden, and decisions can lead us away from God. But with Wisdom, we learn to walk humbly, judge rightly, speak carefully, and act with a holy heart.

God’s teaching is not meant to limit us, but to defend and guide us. Those who accept His teaching will find strength, direction, and protection in it. True success is not measured by how much authority we possess, but by how faithfully we allow God’s Wisdom to guide our lives. When we seek His Wisdom daily, we become better leaders, better servants, and better disciples.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me Your Wisdom. Help me use every responsibility with humility, love, and truth. Guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions, so I may not stumble but walk in Your holy way. Amen.

TUHAN BERDIRI UNTUK KEADILAN

Kebijaksanaan 5:17–23

Bacaan ini menunjukkan kebesaran dan kuasa Tuhan. Tuhan digambarkan seperti pejuang ilahi yang mengenakan kebenaran, keadilan, dan kekudusan sebagai perlengkapan-Nya. Ini mengingatkan kita bahwa Tuhan tidak pernah diam terhadap kejahatan. Ia melihat ketidakadilan, kesombongan, penindasan, dan kefasikan, dan pada waktu-Nya yang sempurna Ia akan menegakkan keadilan sejati.

Gambaran kilat, badai, laut yang bergelora, dan angin dahsyat menunjukkan bahwa seluruh ciptaan berada di bawah kuasa Tuhan. Kekuatan manusia mungkin terlihat besar untuk sesaat, tetapi tidak ada yang dapat melawan kekudusan dan keadilan Allah.

Namun bacaan ini bukan hanya tentang hukuman, melainkan juga tentang pengharapan. Bagi mereka yang berjalan bersama Tuhan, keadilan-Nya menjadi perlindungan. Tuhan yang menghakimi kejahatan juga membela orang benar dan menyertai mereka yang tetap setia kepada-Nya.

Hari ini, marilah kita memeriksa hati kita. Apakah kita sedang membangun hidup dalam kebenaran, keadilan, dan ketaatan kepada Tuhan, atau membiarkan kesombongan dan kepentingan diri menguasai hidup kita? Sebab pada akhirnya, hanya hidup yang dibangun di dalam Tuhan yang akan tetap berdiri teguh.

Doa:
Tuhan, penuhilah hatiku dengan kebenaran dan jauhkan aku dari kejahatan. Tuntun aku untuk hidup dalam kerendahan hati, kesetiaan, dan kasih setiap hari. Amin.

Tuhan memberkati kita semua 🙏❤️

THE LORD STANDS FOR JUSTICE

Wisdom 5:17–23

This passage reveals the greatness and power of God. The Lord is described as a mighty warrior clothed with righteousness, justice, and holiness. It reminds us that God is not indifferent to evil. He sees injustice, pride, oppression, and wickedness, and in His perfect time He will bring true justice.

The images of lightning, storms, raging seas, and mighty winds show that all creation belongs to God and responds to His authority. Human power may seem strong for a moment, but nothing can stand against the holiness and justice of the Lord.

At the same time, this passage is not meant only to create fear, but also hope. For those who walk with God, His justice is protection. The same God who judges evil also defends the righteous and stands beside those who remain faithful to Him.

Today, let us examine our hearts. Are we building our lives on truth, righteousness, and obedience to God, or allowing pride and selfishness to rule us? For in the end, only what is built in God will stand firm.

Prayer:

Lord, clothe my heart with righteousness and lead me away from evil. Help me live in truth, humility, and faithfulness each day. Amen.

WHAT TRULY LASTS BEFORE GOD

Wisdom 5:11–16

This passage reminds us how quickly worldly things can disappear. Human pride, wealth, status, and success may seem important for a moment, but they pass away like smoke in the wind or a shadow that fades. Many people spend their lives chasing things that cannot truly last.

But Wisdom gives a beautiful contrast: “The righteous live forever.” Those who walk with God, remain faithful, love sincerely, and choose what is right are never forgotten by Him. Even if the world overlooks them, God sees their lives and holds them in His care.

What truly lasts before God is not popularity or earthly achievement, but a faithful heart, a truthful life, humility, love, and righteousness. These are the treasures that remain eternal.

Today, let us ask ourselves: Are we building our lives only for this world, or also for eternity?

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to live for what truly lasts before You. Help me walk in truth, humility, love, and faithfulness each day. Amen.

APA YANG SUNGGUH BERNILAI DI HADAPAN TUHAN

Kebijaksanaan 5:11–16

Bacaan ini mengingatkan kita betapa cepatnya hal-hal duniawi dapat berlalu. Kesombongan, kekayaan, kedudukan, dan keberhasilan manusia mungkin terlihat besar untuk sesaat, tetapi semuanya dapat lenyap seperti asap yang tertiup angin atau bayangan yang memudar. Banyak orang menghabiskan hidup mengejar hal-hal yang sebenarnya tidak kekal.

Namun Kitab Kebijaksanaan memberikan kontras yang indah: “Orang benar hidup untuk selama-lamanya.” Mereka yang berjalan bersama Tuhan, tetap setia, hidup dalam kasih, dan memilih jalan yang benar tidak pernah dilupakan oleh Allah. Meskipun dunia mungkin tidak memperhatikan mereka, Tuhan melihat hidup mereka dan menjaga mereka dengan kasih-Nya.

Yang sungguh bernilai di hadapan Tuhan bukanlah popularitas atau pencapaian duniawi, melainkan hati yang setia, hidup yang jujur, kerendahan hati, kasih, dan kebenaran. Itulah harta yang tetap tinggal untuk selamanya.

Hari ini, marilah kita bertanya pada diri sendiri: apakah kita sedang membangun hidup hanya untuk dunia ini, atau juga untuk kekekalan?

Doa:
Tuhan, ajarilah aku untuk hidup bagi hal-hal yang sungguh bernilai di hadapan-Mu. Tuntun aku untuk berjalan dalam kebenaran, kasih, kerendahan hati, dan kesetiaan setiap hari. Amin.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S WORD: A RIGHTEOUS LIFE IS NEVER IN VAIN

Wisdom 5:1–10

The righteous may at times be underestimated, mocked, or even considered unsuccessful by the world. But in the end, God Himself reveals the truth. Those who once looked down on them finally realize that the life they considered foolish was actually pleasing in the sight of God.

This passage reminds us not to measure life merely by wealth, status, praise, or outward success. All these things pass away like a shadow. What truly remains valuable is a faithful heart, an honest life, sincere love, and the courage to continue walking in the ways of the Lord.

Today, let us choose to do what is right, even in small things: praying faithfully, speaking honestly, sharing with others, forgiving, and encouraging those around us. A righteous life may not always be praised by people, but it is never wasted before God.

Prayer:
Lord, guide me to live rightly, humbly, and faithfully before You. Amen.

HIDUP YANG BERHARGA DI HADAPAN TUHAN (Sebuah Renungan Kitab Kebijaksanaan)

Kebijaksanaan 4:1–20

Banyak orang mengukur hidup dari keberhasilan lahiriah. Mereka mengagumi kekayaan, popularitas, pencapaian, umur panjang, dan segala sesuatu yang terlihat hebat di mata dunia. Namun Kitab Kebijaksanaan mengajarkan bahwa Tuhan melihat hidup dengan cara yang sangat berbeda. Yang terutama bagi Tuhan bukanlah penampilan luar, melainkan keadaan hati manusia.

Hidup yang dipenuhi kebaikan, ketulusan, dan kesetiaan jauh lebih berharga daripada keberhasilan tanpa kebenaran. Ada orang yang hidup sederhana dan tidak dikenal banyak orang, tetapi hidupnya sangat berharga di hadapan Tuhan karena ia berjalan dalam ketulusan dan kebajikan.

Bacaan ini juga memberi penghiburan ketika kita sulit memahami mengapa orang baik terkadang dipanggil Tuhan lebih cepat. Manusia sering mengukur hidup dari panjangnya usia, tetapi Tuhan mengukur hidup dari kesetiaan dan makna hidup itu sendiri. Hidup yang singkat namun dijalani dalam kebenaran dapat menjadi jauh lebih berarti daripada hidup panjang tanpa tujuan dan kekudusan.

Pada akhirnya, pencapaian terbesar bukanlah membuat manusia kagum, melainkan hidup yang berkenan kepada Tuhan. Karakter, kemurnian hati, dan kesetiaan akan meninggalkan warisan yang jauh lebih kekal daripada keberhasilan duniawi.

Doa:
Tuhan, ajarlah kami untuk mencari hidup yang berkenan kepada-Mu. Murnikan hati kami dan tuntun kami hidup dalam kebenaran dan kekudusan. Semoga hidup kami menjadi berharga di hadapan-Mu. Amin.

A LIFE THAT IS PRECIOUS BEFORE GOD (A Reflection of Book of Wisdom)

Wisdom 4:1–20

Many people measure life by outward success. They admire wealth, popularity, achievements, long years, and everything that appears impressive in the eyes of the world. Yet the Book of Wisdom reminds us that God sees life very differently. What matters most to Him is not how successful a person looks outwardly, but the condition of the heart.

A life filled with goodness, integrity, and faithfulness is far more valuable than outward accomplishments without truth. Some people may live quietly and simply, unnoticed by many, yet their lives become deeply precious before God because they walk in sincerity and righteousness.

The passage also gives comfort when we struggle to understand why good people sometimes leave this world too soon. Human beings often measure life by length, but God measures life by fulfillment and faithfulness. A short life lived in truth can be more meaningful than many long years lived without purpose or holiness.

In the end, the greatest achievement is not to impress people, but to live in a way that is pleasing to God. Character, purity, and faithfulness leave a legacy that outlives worldly success.

Prayer:
Lord God, teach us to seek a life that is pleasing to You. Purify our hearts and guide us in truth and holiness. May our lives become precious in Your sight. Amen.
