TODAY’S REFLECTION ON THE WORD OF GOD: DO NOT BE AFRAID, GOD KNOWS AND WATCHES OVER US

Readings: Ephesians 1:11–14 • Psalm 33 • Luke 12:1–7

Today’s Word of God invites us to live sincerely and with complete trust in God.

In the Gospel, Jesus warns His disciples to beware of the “leaven of the Pharisees,” which is hypocrisy. We should not appear good on the outside while our hearts are far from the truth. God sees deeper than appearances; He knows what is in our hearts.

Yet today’s Gospel also gives us great comfort. Jesus says that not even a sparrow is forgotten by God, and even the hairs on our heads are counted. Therefore, He says, “Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

This reminds us that our lives are never outside God’s attention. He knows our struggles, fears, needs, and every step we take.

So we do not need to live in pretense or fear. Let us live honestly, faithfully, and with trust.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to live sincerely before You. Keep me from hypocrisy and fear. Strengthen my faith that You know me, care for me, and watch over my life every day. Amen.
