Today's Reflection on God's Word: Trusting God, the True Source of Happiness
Today's readings from Luke 6:17, 20-26 and Jeremiah 17:5-8 teach us that true happiness does not come from wealth or worldly comfort, but from a heart that trusts in God. As expressed in Psalm 1:1-2, 3, 4, 6, those who delight in God's law are like trees planted by streams of water, always flourishing and bearing fruit in season.
In contrast, those who rely solely on human strength are like shrubs in a barren land, vulnerable and easily withered. God invites us to trust in Him fully, especially in times of difficulty, for He is our true source of strength and blessing.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to always rely on You in every step of my life. Keep me from depending on worldly things, and make me like a tree firmly planted by Your living waters. May my life bear fruit and be a blessing to others. Amen.
