Ephphatha, Be Opened!

Reflection on God's Word Today: Ephphatha, Be Opened!

Readings: Genesis 3:1-8, Mark 7:31-37, Psalm 32:1-2,5,6-7

Sin, fear, and worries often make us like Adam and Eve—hiding from God. We become deaf to His voice and silent in proclaiming His love.

But God does not remain distant. In Psalm 32, the psalmist rejoices because when he confessed his sins, God forgave him:

"I acknowledged my sin to You… and You forgave the guilt of my sin." (Ps 32:5)

In Mark 7:31-37, Jesus shows His love by healing a deaf and mute man. He says: "Ephphatha!" (Be opened!). This is not just a physical healing but a spiritual invitation to open our hearts, hear God's voice, and return to Him.

Today, God speaks the same words to us:
"Ephphatha! Open your heart! Do not be afraid to come to Me!"

Do not hide like Adam and Eve. Come to Jesus. Let Him touch and open your heart so your life may be filled with His grace and love.

Closing Prayer

Lord Jesus, open our hearts to grow closer to You. Open our ears to hear Your voice. Open our mouths to boldly proclaim Your love. Amen.

God bless all of us 🙏❤️,
