Reflection: "God Grants Wisdom to Whom He Wills"
📖 Readings:
- Mark 9:38-40 – Jesus teaches that whoever does good in His name is on His side.
- Sirach 4:11-19 – Wisdom guides, protects, but also tests those who seek it.
- Psalm 119:165, 168, 171, 172, 174, 175 – Those who love God’s law find peace and joy.
📖 Reflection:
How often do we think that only certain people are chosen to serve God? Like John in today’s Gospel, we may feel uncomfortable when others outside our group do good in Christ’s name. Yet, Jesus reminds us that whoever is not against us is for us. God works through many people, sometimes in ways we do not expect.
Sirach teaches that wisdom is a gift from God, but those who seek it must be tested. Wisdom is not given easily; it requires patience, humility, and perseverance. Similarly, Psalm 119 reminds us that those who love God’s word will live in peace and find joy in His guidance.
God’s wisdom is not limited to a select few. He grants it to those who sincerely seek Him and are willing to be formed by His truth. Instead of judging others, let us open our hearts to recognize God’s work in all who strive to do good.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, grant me the wisdom to see Your work in others. Help me to be humble, open-hearted, and free from judgment. Let me trust in Your ways and embrace those who do good in Your name. Amen.
God bless,
