Reflection on the Word of God: Opening Our Hearts to Salvation from God
Readings: Hebrews 9:15, 24-28 | Psalm 98:1-6 | Mark 3:22-30
Today, we are invited to reflect on the love and salvation that come from God. In Hebrews 9, Christ is presented as the Mediator of a New Covenant, who offered Himself once for all to redeem our sins. Psalm 98 calls us to rejoice and sing a new song to the Lord for His marvelous works and the salvation revealed to all nations.
However, in Mark 3, Jesus warns us about the danger of closing our hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit. To reject or blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to refuse God’s love, which offers forgiveness and eternal life.
Messages for us today:
- Be grateful for the salvation that comes from God through the sacrifice of Christ, and let our lives be a song of praise to Him.
- Do not allow prejudice or hardness of heart to keep us from recognizing God’s work in our lives.
- Be witnesses to God’s love by living in ways that glorify Him and bring peace to others.
Prayer:
Loving God, we thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who brings us salvation from You. Open our hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit and guide us to remain faithful to Your ways. Fill our lives with gratitude and praise so that we may be witnesses to Your love and peace in the world. Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
