Reflection on God’s Word Today: God Strengthens and Guards Us in the Truth
Gospel Reading: John 17:11b–19
First Reading: Acts of the Apostles 20:28–38
Psalm: Psalm 68:29–30, 33–36
Jesus prays that the disciples may be protected and sanctified in the truth. He knows the world hates them, yet He does not ask the Father to take them out of the world—but to send them into it, fully equipped. Strength and protection come only from the Father, through His Word, which is truth.
Paul, in the first reading, urges the elders of the Church in Ephesus to care for the flock. He warns of fierce wolves that will try to destroy, yet he entrusts them to God and the Word of His grace, believing that it will build them up and strengthen them.
Today’s Psalm affirms that true strength comes from God. He empowers His people with the might to fulfill their calling.
Today we are reminded: God never promises an easy life, but He promises protection and strength in His truth. Let us remain faithful, trust His Word, and serve with love.
Prayer:
Lord, guard me in Your name and sanctify me in Your truth. Give me strength to remain faithful and be a light to others. Amen.
God bless us all ❤️, Manuntun Sitinjak
