TODAY'S GOD'S WORD REFLECTION: JESUS, THE BREAD OF LIFE FOR THE WORLD
Sunday, June 7, 2026
Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)
📖 Today's Readings: Deuteronomy 8:2–3, 14b–16a | Psalm 147:12–15, 19–20 | 1 Corinthians 10:16–17 | John 6:51–58
In today’s Gospel, Jesus declares, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” He teaches that whoever eats His Body and drinks His Blood will have eternal life. Through the Holy Eucharist, Jesus does not merely teach us about love—He gives Himself completely as spiritual nourishment that strengthens, sustains, and saves us.
The First Reading reminds us how God provided manna for the Israelites in the wilderness. The manna was a sign that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. In the New Covenant, Jesus becomes the true Bread of Life who satisfies the deepest hunger of the human soul.
In the Second Reading, Saint Paul reminds us that although we are many, we become one body because we share in the one Bread, who is Christ. Therefore, the Eucharist not only deepens our personal relationship with God but also unites us as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Today, the Lord invites us to grow in our love for the Eucharist. Every time we receive Holy Communion, we receive Jesus Himself. May His presence transform our hearts, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to live lives filled with love, forgiveness, and service to others.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life who came down from heaven. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Eucharist. May we grow in our love for You, remain faithful in coming to You, and live as witnesses of Your love in the world. Amen.
May God bless us all ❤️
