DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION : FAITH BRINGS RESTORATION

(1 Samuel 4:1–11; Mark 1:40–45)
Israel suffered defeat because they relied on a symbol of God’s presence without living in obedience and repentance. The Ark of the Covenant was brought into battle, yet their hearts were far from God. They trusted outward signs rather than a true relationship with Him. This reminds us that faith cannot be replaced by rituals or religious habits that are empty of obedience.
In contrast, the leper in the Gospel came to Jesus with simple faith and total surrender: “If You are willing.” He did not demand anything, but fully trusted in the Lord’s mercy. This sincere faith opened the way to restoration. God looks at a surrendered heart, and when true faith meets His compassion, genuine restoration takes place.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, teach us to come to You with sincere faith and obedient hearts. Restore our lives according to Your will. Amen.
