REFLECTION ON GOD’S WORD: LOVE THAT FREES US FROM FEAR
Readings:
1 John 4:11–18
Mark 6:45–52
Today’s readings reveal a powerful truth: God’s love frees us from fear. In the first reading, Saint John reminds us that perfect love casts out fear. Fear arises when we do not remain in love.
In the Gospel, the disciples are terrified by the storm until Jesus comes walking on the water and says, “Do not be afraid.” His presence transforms fear into peace.
In our lives, storms often shake our faith. Yet when we abide in God’s love and trust in Jesus’ presence, fear gives way to calm, courage, and hope.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, teach me to remain in Your love, so that fear may not rule my heart, but faith and trust in You may guide my life. Amen.
