TODAY'S DAILY REFLECTION: Shaped into a Vessel for God's Purpose

Readings: Jeremiah 18:1–6 • Psalm 146:2abc, 2d–4, 5–6 • Matthew 13:47–53

In the first reading, the Lord sends the prophet Jeremiah to the house of a potter. When the vessel he is making becomes spoiled, the potter does not throw the clay away. Instead, he patiently reshapes it into another vessel. Through this simple yet powerful image, God declares: "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in My hand."

In today's Gospel, Jesus continues teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven through the parable of the fishing net that gathers fish of every kind. When the net is pulled ashore, the good fish are collected, while the bad ones are thrown away. Jesus reminds us that, in the end, there will be a separation between those who live according to God's will and those who choose the path of evil.

These two readings invite us to realize that God never stops shaping our lives. Failure, weakness, and even sin are not the end if we are willing to repent. Like clay in the potter's hands, our lives can be reshaped into something beautiful and useful for His glory.

However, this process requires humility and obedience. A hardened heart cannot be molded, but a heart that is open to listening and following God's will becomes a vessel through which His love, peace, and hope can flow to others.

Today, let us ask ourselves: Am I allowing God to shape my life each day, or am I still insisting on following my own way? Trust that when we surrender ourselves completely to Him, He can turn our weaknesses into strength, our wounds into blessings, and our lives into instruments of His glory.

Prayer: Lord, shape my life as a potter shapes the clay. Remove the pride, selfishness, and sin that hinder Your work within me. Make me a vessel that is useful in Your hands, reflecting Your love and becoming a blessing to everyone I meet. Amen.
